The rule of thumb is that older TVs have analogue TV tuners and fairly good support for standard definition and 240P Also don't automatically assume the Retrotink will do a better job, For example my previous Samsung TV from 2013 did a much better job at scaling than my Retrotink 2X Pro Multiformat
